The Poetry and Romance of Coffee
“No wonder there is something magic about the effects of a cup of good coffee.
It has gathered to itself the glory of Southern suns and the mystery of tropic nights.
It has been wooed by the winds of romance and lulled by the songs of the Seven Seas.
It recalls the music of soft tongues, the melody of strange instruments and the rhythm of languorous dances.
It has seen the droop of dark eyes, the deep flush of olive cheeks and love songs fell upon the palpitating night.
Now wonder it conveys to the senses the subtle perfume of surcharged blooms, the rare memoirs of wondrous journeying and the romantic fragrance of exotic and opulent nature.”

Staff
In 1909, Edgar R Morrison at only 21 years of age established Savannah Coffee Company at 130 W Bay Street, Savannah. No doubt this was under the tutelage of his Father, David Morrison who ran D J Morrison and Sons dry grocers from the mid 1800’s at 216-218 W Broughton Street, Savannah.
Edgar’s love of coffee roasting has endured and his eye for what makes ‘good’ coffee watches over us as we steer the ship 100 years later. Our approach is that it is Roasted Fresh—Because it should be!
All those years ago, the Savannah Coffee Company story started something that coffee connoisseurs have delighted in finishing ever since. Of course, you may never drink anyone else’s coffee again! It’s only natural that our coffee has that effect. By hand roasting small batches, and only using the best Arabica beans, our roast-master draws out the subtle nuances of flavor, hidden in every bean.
As a member of the Specialty Coffee Association of America we are part of that select group who strives to provide the best, quality coffees that are considered to be amongst the finest coffee beans. The way we see it, there is no substitute for “The Best Cup of Coffee in America!” And after all, you deserve the best! Life’s too short to endure ‘bad’ coffee.
